Participating in design competitions is essential for Idberlin to confirm the quality of our designs. We have been honored with prestigious awards such as the IF Design Award, Eurobike Gold Award, German Design Award, and Design & Innovations Award.

Our designs have been exhibited at the London Design Museum and have been awarded the Cargobike of the Year Award in the Heavy Cargo Bikes category for the second time.

Founder

Industrial Designer

Norbert Haller has been leading IDberlin since 2012 and brings over 25 years of experience in the bicycle and e-mobility industry. As a pioneer in e-bike design, he developed the first e-bike with an internal battery as early as 1998, helping to shape the early development of electric mobility. He holds a Master’s degree in Industrial Design from UdK Berlin. Since 1998, Haller has designed and developed electric light vehicles for international markets, working at the intersection of design, engineering, and mobility concepts. He is a former World Cup racer, a multiple design award winner, and a juror for renowned international competitions such as the iF Design Award. In addition, he is a regular speaker at industry trade fairs and conferences and serves as an ambassador for German Design Graduates.

Norbert Haller

Industrial Designer

After completing his studies in Industrial Design at the University of Applied Sciences, Technology, Business and Design in Wismar, Daniel Roose began his career as a designer at PMC GmbH, contributing to the development of composite lightweight solutions for e-mobility and railway interiors. In 2015, he joined IDberlin as a partner, where he has been primarily responsible for client management and leading international design and development projects ever since. He is also actively involved in research projects focusing on sustainable materials and circular design. At the same time, he frequently supervises student projects and works closely with universities. His work has been honored with various awards and has been featured in different exhibitions.
